Update

So, it's been moving a little slow, but I just wanted to let everyone know that Pineapple has not left the good fight. She is not dead, a zombie, being held by a murderer, or any of the above...unless you count grad school.

Yes, she being the more intelligent of the two of us, is in grad school, and between the stress of that and work among other things, she's been a little absent. No reason to fret though. We'll be reviewing more now that we're both out for the semester. Yay break!

Oh, and happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Yule, Candlemas, or whatever else you celebrate!

Review- The Gore Gore Girls

Oh The Gore Gore Girls... What a delightful foray into violence. That is the largest draw in this film about a stripper-ending serial killer. With the comic hilarity that came with the 70's, we find slicked-back hair, paisley patterns, and strippers who wear clothing about as revealing as a pallbearer's. The movie doesn't fall short, though, delivering the levels of gore, as the title suggests, that are necessary to earn this film the genre of splatter-porn.

GGG opens with the scene of one of these exotic dancers having her face smashed repeatedly into a mirror until chunks of the glass stick out in various directions from her face. Of course, the copious amounts of blood that she loses here are nothing compared to some of the atrocities committed later in the film.

All in all, we find these girls with their heads pulled-that's right, pulled-open, and their eyeballs put inside of their clawed out skulls, grease burns on the face and chest opening pus- and blood-seeping sores, and- dare I say it- nipples cut off at the end to let blood and milk flow out. That being said, if you are interested in a thinker, a plot-driven horror movie about anything other than violence, look somewhere else. You may want to look away anyway. If seeing how far over-the-top the film industry went that far back is your bag, look no further. It's mindless fun, if you have the stomach for it.

I give it: 3/5
